Sacred icons hand-painted in Italy for Vienna

For centuries Vienna has been a crossroads between Central Europe and the Balkans: Greek merchants built their churches there as early as the 18th century, and today the city gathers Serbian, Romanian, Russian and Bulgarian communities alongside a great collecting tradition.

    The Christian East in Vienna

    • The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity on the Fleischmarkt, with its golden façade, historic heart of the Greek community.
    • The Russian Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, with its onion domes, consecrated in 1899.
    • The Serbian, Romanian and Bulgarian parishes that make Vienna one of the Orthodox capitals of Central Europe.

For those living in Vienna and Austria

The Slava icon for a Serbian family, the name saint for a name day, the Mother of God for a home in the old city or in Salzburg: every work is painted entirely by hand and fully gilded with 23¾ karat gold.
