Sacred icons hand-painted in Italy for Paris
In the 20th century Paris was the cradle of the revival of the icon in the West: Russian émigrés founded churches and schools there, and from here the theology of the icon reached the whole world. It is still a city of connoisseurs.

The icon in Paris
- The Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky on rue Daru, consecrated in 1861, heart of the Russian community of Paris.
- The Saint Sergius Institute of Orthodox Theology, founded in 1925, where much of the modern reflection on the icon took shape.
- The Greek, Romanian, Serbian and Georgian churches of the city and the Byzantine art collections of the Louvre.
For Paris collectors and families
An icon of the Holy Face or of the Mother of God for a Haussmann apartment, a patron saint for a baptism, a Deesis for a collection: unique works, painted entirely by hand, with inscriptions in Greek or Latin.

Holy Face
The face of Christ, cross-inscribed halo.

Madonna dei Martiri
Mother of God with red halo.
Commissioning and shipping
Consultations take place online, in English or Italian. During the work you receive photographs of every stage; the icon arrives with protective packaging and, on request, insured shipping, together with its certificate of authenticity on real parchment and its explanatory booklet. Shipping conditions and any customs formalities are checked case by case at the time of commission.
