Sacred icons hand-painted in Italy for Germany
Germany has one of the strongest icon-collecting cultures in Europe: Recklinghausen and Frankfurt have museums devoted entirely to the icon, and Munich is home to a large Greek community. A fine-art icon hand-painted in Italy enters this tradition of connoisseurs.

The icon in Germany
- The Ikonenmuseum in Recklinghausen, founded in 1956, is considered the most important icon museum outside the countries of Orthodox tradition.
- The Ikonen-Museum in Frankfurt, in the Sachsenhausen district, holds Russian, Greek and Ethiopian icons.
- In Munich the Salvatorkirche, a late Gothic church of 1494, has been the church of the Greek Orthodox community since 1829, by the will of King Ludwig I.
For collectors and families in Germany
Icon collectors look for a recognisable hand, a documented school and traditional materials: Concetta Basile's icons are painted on gessoed panels, in egg tempera with ochres, earths and oxides, fully gilded with 23¾ karat gold, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with photographs of every stage. They are also a Christmas gift or corporate gift of great distinction.

Commissioning and shipping
Consultations take place online, in English or Italian. During the work you receive photographs of every stage; the icon arrives with protective packaging and, on request, insured shipping, together with its certificate of authenticity on real parchment and its explanatory booklet. Shipping conditions and any customs formalities are checked case by case at the time of commission.
